SCOFL Peewee Championship

Congratulations to the Thunderbirds Peewee team on winning the SCOFL AA Championship at Ivor Wynne Stadium.
From the opening kickoff the Thunderbirds dominated the Championship game and defeated the Clarington Tiger-Cats 28-0 .

West Division Finals Results

Peewee:
In spite of a very determined effort by Niagara, the Peewee Thunderbirds took control of the game in the second half and defeated the Storm 15-6 to win the AA West Division.
The Thunderbirds will play for the SCOFL AA Championship on Saturday August 15 at Ivor Wynne Stadium in Hamilton at 9 am.
Junior Varsity:
The game was a defensive struggle from start to finish. Unfortunately with the heavy rain and the strong performances by both defenses a single point would hold up as the final score. Storm 1 - Thunderbirds 0.

West Division Finals Game Times Announced
[Updated: July 31, 2009]
The West Division Finals game times, to be played on Saturday, August 8, have been announced. The Peewee team will play at 12:00pm and the JV team will play at 2:20pm. Both games will be home games, played at Westminster S.S..
Game 8 Results
[Updated: July 27 2009]
Peewee: With their 22-7 win over the Niagara Storm the Peewee Thunderbirds finished regular season play with a 5-3 record.
Junior Varsity: The JV team dominated the game in all three areas and posted a convincing 25-0 win over the Niagara Storm .
The Thunderbirds will now host both the Peewee and JV West Division Finals on Saturday August 8.
Game 7 Results

Midway into the 1st quarter the Peewee Thunderbirds steadily took charge on both sides of the football and posted their fourth win of the season with a 27-0 victory over the Clarington Tigercats.
A victory next week ensures the team a home playoff (semifinal) game.
The Junior Varsity Thunderbirds kept their playoff hopes alive by posting a 15-7 victory over the Clarington Knights.
Next week's home game marks the end of the regular season and will determine playoff positioning.

Peewee: Huronia 7 - Thunderbirds 0
The peewee offense came away empty on several opportunities in the red zone. Our defense played another good game.
Junior Varsity: Burlington 21 - Thunderbirds 2
Once again our defense played an excellent game holding off the high scoring Stampeders, trailing 7-2 with 6 minutes left in the game. Unfortunately some tough breaks led to the final result.
Game 5 Results

After trailing 16-0 in the 2nd quarter and 22-16 in the 4th quarter, the Peewee Thunderbirds mounted a dramatic 60 yard drive to score the winning touch down with 20 seconds left in the game to defeat the previously undefeated Dolphins 23-22.
The JV Thunderbirds led from start to finish in a defensively dominated contest winning 9-5.

Game 4 Results

The Junior Varsity offence played an error free game and scored 3 touchdowns, while our defense thwarted a determined Predator team.

The Peewee Thunderbirds scored 10 points in each half to record their second win of the season. Once again our defense played a terrific game.

Game 3 Results

The peewee Thunderbirds played hard against the undefeated Steel City Steelers but lost by a score of 8-6 when their two point conversion was stopped just short of the goal line.
After a strong opening quarter the JV Thunderbirds gave up 21 unanswered points in the second quarter and were defeated by the Steelers 48-10.

After trailing the Niagara Storm 37-12 at the end of three quarters, the Junior Varsity Thunderbirds stormed back in the 4th quarter but fell short by a score of 37-32.
The Peewee Thunderbirds dominated the Niagara Storm in all three phases of the game to post a convincing 34-0 victory.

The times for the Peewee and Junior Varsity games on Sunday June 7 have changed. The Junior Varsity game will now be at 1:00pm and the Peewee game will be at 4:00pm.

The FCTBirds had a difficult time with Chatham-Kent dropping both their Peewee and JV games on Sunday. The Peewee team lost a very close game by a single point, while the JV team had a more difficult time. Photos from the Peewee game are available in the Photos area.

After a loss to the Burlington Stampeders in the Semi-Final game, the FC TBirds season has come to an end. Information about the 2009 season will be posted when it becomes available, probably in February 2009.

The next game will be the semi-final game against the Burlington Stampeders on Sunday, August 3. The game will be played at McMaster University Stadium with kickoff at 2:45pm.

After losing 19-10 to York-Simcoe last Saturday, the FC TBirds look to capture there next win against the Clarington Knights on Sunday, July 27. The game against Clarington is the final game of the regular season.

TBirds Win!

The FC TBirds earned their first win of the season today with a 47-15 win over the Burlington Braves. The FC TBirds will continue to practice in preparation for a home game against the Huronia Stallions on June 28. Admission to all home games, played at Westminster SS (map), is free. There is no game on the weekend of June 21-22 as this is a bye week.
Injuries Hamper TBirds

After losing their starting quarterback for the season during the first drive of Game #1, and other key players suffering injuries, the FC TBirds are working hard on re-building. After their third loss of the season, they will look for their first win against the the Burlington Braves, at home, on Saturday, June 14. The FC TBirds close the regular season this Sunday, July 22, 2007 again the Burlington Stampeders. This game comes after a loss to the Huronia Stallions 27-10. The TBirds enter the final game with a record of 4-3.

Three in a Row!

For the third straight week The Forest City Thunderbirds dominated the competition. In the final regular season home game the TBirds defeated the Thundering Herd 57-07. Their season record is now 4-2. In the past 3 games the TBirds have outscored their opponents 148-16. The TBirds are off next week, then conclude the season with two road games. Their next game is Sunday, July 15, 2007 against the Huronia Stallions, followed by a game on Sunday, July 22, 2007.

The Forest City Thunderbirds won their third game of the year, and second in a row, with a 34-03 win over the Mississauga Thundering Herd. The Thunderbirds record is now 3-2. The two teams play again this Saturday, June 30, 2007 in the second game of a home-and-home series. The game on Saturday, June 30, 2007 will be played at Westminster Secondary School (map), 230 Baseline Road West, London, beginning at 2:00pm.
TBirds Rise to .500

The Forest City Thunderbirds won their second game of the year, raising their record to 2-2 with a 57-06 win over the Burlington Braves in their first away game of the season. The FC TBirds play their second away game of the year on Sunday, June 24, 2007 against the Mississauga Thundering Herd. The two teams will lock-up again on Saturday, June 30, 2007 in the second game of a home-and-home series. The game on Saturday, June 30, 2007 will be played at Westminster Secondary School (map), 230 Baseline Road West, London, beginning at 2:00pm.
TBirds Hit the Road

The Forest City Thunderbirds hit the road for Game #4, their first away game, against the Burlington Braves. The Forest City Thunderbirds have joined the South Central Ontario Football League (SCOFL) for the upcoming 2007 season. The Thunderbirds will field a team in the Junior Varsity division.
